President’s Letter (December 7, 2020)

Dear Colleagues, The activity of the AOPT Board is fully dedicated to the organization of the15th biennial AOPT Conference which will be held virtually on March 4-7, 2021. The theme of the meeting is “Restoring Vision Through Regeneration”. More information including registration, abstract forms, and the preliminary program are at www.aopt.org. Please be sure to take advantage of discounted early-bird rates. The meeting will include 13 sessions, plenary talks, exhibits, and posters (short 5 min videos). I invite all members to submit your abstracts, renew your membership, and secure your subscription to the Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics. I also want to announce that all 8 non-officer positions on the AOPT board of trustees are up for election in 2021. Participation on the Board is voluntary and receives no compensation. Trustee positions carry a 2-year term (Trustees may serve two consecutive terms). Terms start following the upcoming 15th biennial conference and run through the 16th AOPT biennial conference in early 2023. As a member of AOPT, you are empowered to nominate yourself or any other regular member of AOPT to serve on the Board to assist in management of the membership, association business, the Journal of Ocular Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and scientific meetings. A brief nomination form is required. Please renew your membership for 2021-2023 as that is a prerequisite for your participation in the election process. Deadline is December 15, 2020 for self-nominations and February 22, 2021 for other nominations. A warm hug.
