President’s Letter (September 9, 2019)

Catania, Italy (September 9, 2019)
Dr. Filippo Drago
Dear Colleagues, The summer holiday period is drawing to a close and many of us are returning to our offices and engaging in planning new activities for the coming months. In a few days the Board of Directors will meet again to decide the location of the AOPT Congress of 2021. Several candidates are in the running and the choice is not easy. You will certainly be informed of the decision as soon as it is taken. Recently, the Board of Directors also approved the Association’s “Code of Conduct”, which you will find on the AOPT website. This is a document describing the ethical principles to be followed by our associates as far as Research, Professional integrity and Scientific co-operation are concerned. Since we feel the need for a greater presence of AOPT in the various countries represented by our members, I urge you all to consider holding mini congresses or local educational events in your countries in the interim between 2019 and 2021. Please notify any of the trustees of your intent and send your requests for meeting sponsorship to me at We would look forward to expanding our international efforts through AOPT. A warm hug.
